Janelle Reads and Writes

Lover of the written word! Join me as I discuss books, both my own and those I've read and loved.

The Edge of Never - J.A. Redmerski What a book! It had everything. At parts I was laughing out loud, other parts I just sat there with a stupid grin on my face because these two are so damn cute. The hot parts were scorching! And then I was bawling my eyes out. Seriously. I was depressed for a whole day, and refused to read further when I realized what was happening. I finally broke down and read the rest, but it took a lot out of me. As I said to J.A. herself, she literally ripped my heart out then shoved it back in. Thank God for the ending, otherwise I still wouldn't be over it. This is one of those love stories that you watch build up slowly in front of your eyes, and it is the sweetest thing. Two people that find each other at the right time in their lives, and complete the other. Such a wonderful story, and beautifully written. I loved it!
The Secret of Ella and Micha - Jessica Sorensen I LOVE Micha! Such a good book. I can't wait to read the next one :)
Wallbanger - Alice Clayton Hilarious! Not at all what I thought it would be...it was even better! A nice, fun read :)
The Rise (The Alexa Montgomery Saga, #3) - H.D. Gordon I'm at a loss for words. I literally just finished this and my mind is still trying to wrap around what just happened. The Rise is definitely the best book in the series, so far. Although from what I hear I might be retracting that statement after reading the final book. So much happened in this book that I absolutely loved. In the second book we were introduced to Nelly's POV, which I have to admit I wasn't too fond of because I was used to just seeing things from Alexa's POV, and she is just so incredibly bad ass lol Nelly is still such a quiet, gentle character in book two that I didn't want to read her parts, I was more interested in Alexa's. Well that sweet Nelly sure took an unexpected turn in this book. Wow! I LOVED that both these girls are becoming such strong, lethal characters. Nelly went a little wild, but that's okay because I loved it! The hotness between Alexa and Kayden was, as usual, yummy. My opinion of Jackson was drastically altered, which is what I'm having the hardest time accepting. And things are just getting so insane that I can't even imagine how this is all going to play out. Definitely H.D. at her best! Loved it!

Rule (Marked Men, #1) - Jay Crownover I absolutely loved this book. Rule is definitely a new fav out of my book boyfriends. The only thing that took away from it was the horrible editing, which I'm giving it 5 stars despite of. I am totally putting myself out there to Jay and saying I'd be happy to edit this for free! Honestly. The story is amazing, and I'd hate to see it lose stars just because of the typos. The story itself is perfect the way it is, but there are so many typos that I know some people won't be able to look past them. I can, simply because I'm more interested in the story itself than the editing. So long as it's just typos and not so much that the author can't write then I'm fine. Trust me, I've stopped reading other books because of editing, but not the kind where it's a lack of catching missing words, or words that shouldn't be there, but when the sentences don't make a lick of sense and I can't fully understand what the author is trying to say. This is not the case here, so I can easily get by. But I know some people won't and that makes me sad, because this book deserves all 5 stars. I noticed Jay has been signed by an agent, so hopefully that means editing will take place in the future to catch all these small mistakes. I'm always here if you need me Jay ;) Definitely a must read! And I cannot wait for the next book! As I was reading this one I hoped that there would be another book with Ayden and Jet. When I saw that there was I clapped my hands like an idiot. So excited!!
Fallen Too Far (Too Far, #1) - Abbi Glines Loved it! Love Rush *sigh* Cannot wait for the next one!!
The Wild Ones (The Wild Ones, #1) - M. Leighton Could not put this one down! I'm super tired because of it lol was totally worth the lack of sleep! Love it :)
My Favorite Mistake - Chelsea M. Cameron Perfect! I am absolutely in love with Hunter
Opal - Jennifer L. Armentrout My heart hurts....best one yet, but I'm not sure if I'll ever recover :(
Dark Waltz (Praestani, #1) - A.M. Hargrove I don't normally write reviews, but I always make an exception for A.M. I've been lucky enough to meet some dear, dear friends here on Goodreads and she is one of them! Having heard about this book as A.M. wrote it, I knew it was going to be hot. Man did it exceed all expectations. The hot parts were scorching! The tension was insane between the two main characters and when we finally got what we had been waiting for it was even better than I imagined.
What surprised me the most about this novel were the dark parts. I had no idea this book would have such horrific scenes that literally had me crying for the main character. And to top it all off the utter desperation we got to see from Jurek added such a depth to his character that I completely fell even more in love with him. A.M. achieved a love story without even having to say the words. She showed us the character's feelings rather than simply telling us. It was simply amazing and definitely A.M. at her best! I can't wait to read more of her incredible work.
Saving Grace (Mad World, #2) - Christine Zolendz Love!
Fall From Grace (Mad World, #1) - Christine Zolendz Couldn't put it down! *sigh* I love Shane! Can't wait for book two.
Tempting the Player - J. Lynn, Jennifer L. Armentrout Even better than the first!
Eden-South - Janelle Stalder Cover coming soon!
Almost - Anne Eliot Adorable!
While It Lasts (Sea Breeze, #3) - Abbi Glines I'm reading these backwards lol Love Cage! Now I'll read Willow's story.
